Project No. 8638 began as a typical 1980s builder home with a dated layout and limited personality. Maeve Design Collective reworked the home with a more thoughtful sense of flow, adding architectural detail, improved function, and a more established feeling throughout.
The kitchen was re-planned to better support daily life, with a layout that improved function while connecting more naturally to the surrounding spaces. New architectural details, updated doors and windows, and thoughtful material choices helped move the home away from its original builder-grade feel and into something more cohesive.
Paneling and millwork were added throughout the home to bring depth, proportion, and personality to spaces that previously felt plain. Around key focal points like the fireplace, these details helped create the sense of a home with history, rather than one defined by its original 1980s construction.
One of the home’s most meaningful changes was the conversion of the loft into an additional bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom. What had once been an underused open area became a true extension of the home’s function, adding privacy, flexibility, and long-term value.
